How was Aussieland? I really enjoyed surfing the long right points of the Gold Coast. My girlfriend Maddie was there too, which was a big treat.

Looking back, how do you feel about your first year on tour? Lots of ups and downs. I ended the year on a high note, making some heats at Pipeline [on the North Shore of Oahu] at the end of the season. Stoked to be back!

Neff Surf Team rider Jordy Smith knows South Africa well. He knows where it's going to be good, and when. So when he sees a dreamy swell and wind combination headed for Durban, he has no hesitation driving across from Cape Town to score. Throw some extra adventuring in on the way and you're looking at 1721 Kilometers. A whole lot of time in the car, but all worth.
