Neff brought some extra star power to this year's U.S. Open of Surfing. As if the surf event wasn't big enough, Neff brought The Game, Austin Carlile (lead singer of the band Of Mice and Men), Mod Sun, and Lil Debbie to Jack's Surfboards in Huntington Beach. The event was larger than anyone expected. There were kids camped out since 6am to make sure they got an autograph from their favorite personalities. In addition to the big name music stars, Neff also brought their Surf and Skate teams to the signing.
The scene at the actual signing was intense. With people waiting since 6am what else would you expect. Fans swarmed the autograph tables as soon as the line opened up. If you've never seen a four-block-long-line of anxious people waiting for an autograph, you don't know what true fan devotion is. Even the superstar rockers and rappers were in awe of the magnitude of the line that was waiting just to see them.
Overall the entire weekend was a major success. Neff was able to completely stoke out their fans, and that line had the celebrities in attendance excited as well. Not to be outdone, the Neff Surf Team made a huge showing with Kolohe Andino making it all the way to the finals before mother nature decided to stop the good waves coming. With a turn out like this year, next year's Open is going to have to go overboard to top this one.

The Van's U.S. Open of Surfing took place this past weekend at Huntington Beach, and what an amazing event it was. The shredding was great and the action on the beach and Main St. was epic. Neff was there in full force on the waves, with three Neff Surf Team riders competing, as well as on the shore, with activities taking place on the beach and Main St.
The Neff Surf Team represented like bosses on the waves. With Jordy Smith, Kolohe Andino, and Evan Geiselman in the competition, we knew that was sure to happen. All three surfers advanced to the round of 48, with Jordy and Kolohe making it to the quarterfinals. Although the quarters would be the end of the line for Jordy, Kolohe powered his way all the way into the final with amazing surfing in each of his heats.
The final pitted Neff's Kolohe Andino versus Brazilian surfer Alejo Muniz. Kolohe came out of the gates with a few strong passes before the waves died on him, ultimately giving the edge to Muniz who put down an amazing run just before the waves died to narrowly edge Andino for the title.
If you missed this incredible event, you'll be kicking yourself until next year.
