Chas signing posters…
The Neff RV has been cruising through campus the past two sessions with stickers, posters, schwag and free icecream. It really doesn’t get much better on a summer day than free icecream. A few days ago they stopped by with Chas Guldemond, who spent time hanging out with campers and signing autographs. Chas is at Hood filming for Fuel TV. Check out the photos after the jump.
NEFF x DC Collaboration

DC is proud to announce its collaboration with NEFF Headwear for a limited edition snow collection for the Winter 2011 season. The collection features snowboards, snowboard boots, fleece, T-shirts, gloves, and headwear that will hit stores in September 2010.
A true creative collaboration between DC and NEFF, the collection was inspired by the beaches and 1980’s nightlife of Miami. From the florescent neon colors and art deco signs, to flamingos and palm tree lined streets, the graphics designed for this project are warm, sunny and bright – everything that winter is traditionally not.
“NEFF is a great up-and-coming brand with a lot of energy,” said Nate Morley, DC’s VP of Creative. “These two brands came together in a creative way and developed a line that really stands out.”
The DC x NEFF graphics are featured on DC’s PBJ 153 and 157 snowboard as well the popular Park boot. Apparel and accessories include graphic T-shirts and fleece, pipe gloves, and a beanie. The collection is being supported exclusively by DC Pro Torstein Horgmo, whose unique riding style fits the products perfectly. Torstein rode a DC x NEFF snowboard this past season while filming and competing, including the 2010 Winter Dew Tour and Winter X Games 14, where he took home a silver medal in Big Air.
“It was really great working with the DC crew,” said Shaun Neff, creator of NEFF Headwear. “They were very open to a collaboration that was fun and unique – something that would compliment both brands in an unexpected way. And to have a rider as talented as Torstein supporting the project is just awesome.”
NEFF Headwear was started by Shaun Neff in 2002 as a headwear and t-shirt company. Since then the company has become wildly popular and gained the respect and following of the action sports world, especially with snowboarders and skaters. This is the first collaboration of its kind for NEFF.
The DC x NEFF Collaboration will be available at select retailers nationwide beginning in September 2010. For more information on the collection and the DC Snow team visit http://www.dcshoes.com/snow. The DC x NEFF beanie will be available exclusively by NEFF Headwear, for more details visit http://www.neffheadwear.com.

NEFF Rider Greg Lutzka Wins Dew Tour Boston

Skate park podium
A total of 12 skaters were separated into two six-man heats to start the park finals with only the top six advancing to the super final jam. In the final jam, Ortiz had a lead, but was closely followed by Lutzka and Sheckler. The trio of Dew Tour newcomers in the final included Eli Reed and Sierra Fellers along with Bastien Salabanzi, who dominated both rounds of qualifying.
Both the old guard and the new guys battled it out in the final seven-minute jam session making it hard on the judges to pick the top three.
But when the dust settled and the scores were tabulated, Lutzka’s solid, consistent and progressive skating won the day, and he claimed the first park win of the 2010 Dew Tour season.
Greg Lutzka won the Skate Open skate park title, becoming the ISF Skateboarding World Champion in the process and returning to the top of the Dew Tour podium for the first time since 2007.
Ryan Sheckler also made his return to the podium, and to the Dew Tour after losing a year due to injury, and he claimed second. Newly minted Zoo York pro Chaz Ortiz rounded out the top three.

LEFT SIDE
Jammed Fingers
About five months ago I fell down some stairs skating, like fell all the way to the bottom. I went hands-first to break my fall and jammed my fingers, especially my left middle finger. It swelled up super big. It still hella hurts and it’s still kinda fat looking. Plus I can’t really bend it all the way, so that one sucks.
Bloody Nails
I used to bite the shit out of my nails, dude, all day, every day. I used to bite the skin just to get to the nails. They’d be all ugly and bleeding. My hands would be in my mouth at all times. But then I got that little nail polish shit you put on it where if you bite ’em it tastes like shit, so now I don’t bite ’em no more and they look nice.
Fractured Skull
When I was 16, I was skating some stairs, trying a frontside pop shove-it, when I smacked my head. That was a Monday and I woke up in the hospital on Wednesday. I didn’t know what was going on. I had suction cups on my chest, IVs in both arms, a neck brace and that tube up my dick—what’s that called?—a catheter. I had fractured my skull. I missed three months of school and couldn’t skate for a whole year. That was the banger right there.
